MINUTES OF GREAT LAKES REGIONAL MEETINGAPRIL 3, 2004A special meeting of the members of the Great Lakes Region of the Cat Fanciers' Association, Inc. was called at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2004, by Regional Treasurer Ed Bodnovich, at the direction of Liz Watson, Regional Director, specifically to discuss regional finances. Treasurer Bodnovich discussed the recent history of the regional treasury. We have approximately $44,000. The region experienced a combined drain of $10,000 on the Fundraiser show and the awards banquet (the Regional Awards Show itself was profitable). It was discussed that the awards are an expense, rather than a loss. The regional assessment does not cover the region's losses/expenses. Fundraising efforts, such as the Lucky 13 drawing, 50/50 drawings and raffles were discussed. The region will need at least $45,000 to cover costs of the 2008 Annual. As has been discussed previously, the sponsorship of the awards was brought up. Upon motion by Loretta Baugh, seconded by Mariane Toth and carried, sponsors for regional awards will be solicited. The 2004 Regional Awards Show in June was discussed. It will be held in Toledo, Ohio at the Seagate Center. Upon motion by Mariane Toth, seconded by Rick Harris and carried, $2,000 will be allocated for advertising. Respectfully submitted,
