Dear Great Lakes Regional Members, I have asked Karen to post this message to the GLR web page. I am in the process of setting up committees & some have been notified of new positions. The chairpersons are as follows:
These people will be looking for individuals to work on their committees. If you see something that you would enjoy doing, please contact them to extend your services. All are listed in the CFA directory except Eldon Smith & his committee is only short term to investigate what can be done to serve our Canadian exhibitors more equitably. Most are on line & I hope they can update the region with brief reports via our GLR WebPages. Check back often, as it is a most economical way of communicating. LEGISLATIVE ALERT!!Currently of paramount importance is getting letters written to the USDA regarding the newly proposed rules. Kitty Goodwin is heading the letter writing campaign in this region. She is trying to have a booth at each show with examples, envelopes, stationery, etc. to make this as painless as possible. Letters must be sent with the original & 3 copies. There is also "an email address for sending them via the Internet but the hard copies are the recommended way.For more information, please check the CFA web page at the following URLs: You can also contact Kitty at casey92@johnstown.net.
